For the fourth year running, Datacom played host to the Global Integration Bootcamp (GIBC), a free event backed by Microsoft to give communities of users around the world an insight into Microsoft's integration story.
This year included a full-day event packed with interesting presentations and live demos, delivered by industry experts and community leaders. There were hands-on sessions and labs covering everything from API management to creating automated workflows using Microsoft Flow.
There were four Datacom presenters from the Auckland and Wellington-based integration teams. Desiree Suligan, a professional services developer, gave a great presentation on building cloud agnostic apps using serverless frameworks, while Colin Dijkgraaf, one of Datacom's integration consultants, updated users on the new version of BizTalk Server 2020 and how this mature on-premise platform can work seamlessly with Microsoft's Azure platform, to provide hybrid integration.
Solution Architect Vinnie James, from the Wellington team, outlined the security options and features available with Azure Integration Services. Lastly, Mahindra Morar, another one of Datacom's integration consultants, talked about enforcing ordered delivery of messages on a service bus queue using sessions.
Integration is at the heart of digital transformation and Microsoft's technology and long history of service delivery sees it well-placed to offer robust, scalable and modern integration solutions.
