Awards are just one measure of success but the cluster of awards and recognition that Datacom’s teams have received throughout 2023 also reflect what we’ve been able to achieve for our people, partners and customers.

This year’s haul of awards shows the breadth of talent and skill of our people, with our accolades spanning people, partner, growth and transformation awards, as well as recognition of our journey towards becoming a more sustainable business and tech partner.

Being recognised as the Riverbed Technology Innovation Partner of the Year for 2023, as well as receiving both the New Zealand and Australia Lenovo IDG Reseller of the Year 2023 awards, were great achievements for our teams, celebrating their commitment to delivering innovation that empowers our customers’ productivity, as well as strong business engagement.

Riverbed Director of Channels and Alliances, Mal Brown, said, “Datacom truly understands the business value of experience-led solutions and services. Together, we will scale and expand opportunities, and pave the way for a transformative digital future in Australia and New Zealand.”

Our cloud team collected great accolades with the Dell Technologies Cloud Service Provider Top Performer 2023 for Australia and New Zealand award, VMware’s Cloud Innovation and SaaS Transformation Award for 2023, as well as the Hewlett Packard Hybrid Cloud Partner of the Year award.

Datacom’s security team was also a top performer, with the team winning the Fortinet Australian Growth Partner of the Year 2023, as well as the Axis Communications Fastest Growing Partner and Top Transformation Partner of the Year, both in recognition of our ongoing commitment to improving our customers’ security and resilience.

We were also honoured to be recognised by so many of our partners as a valued, fast-growing partner, including awards for Australia New Zealand Adobe Excellence Partner of the Year, Hitachi Acquisition Win of the Year, Dell Technologies Global Alliances Partner of the Year Breakthrough Award, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Partner of the Year.

Datacom’s APC by Schneider Electric’s Most Sustainable Partner of the Year achievement and the HP Sustainable Impact Award are achievements we’re proud of as they reflect Datacom’s continued focus on sustainability, both in our business and in supporting our customers’ journeys.

We’ve also become an Amplify Impact Catalyst 5-Star Partner in Australia and a 4-Star partner in New Zealand, which recognises our efforts across our carbon footprint and reduced emissions, circular economy focus, and social impact initiatives. Our commitment to sustainability is a critical foundation in achieving our vision to make a difference in people’s lives and to enable our customers to thrive and shape their own futures. Datacom has made a commitment to be net carbon zero by the end of 2030.

Datacom gave its support to a number of awards events too– from the Hi-Tech Awards to the Hawke's Bay Business Awards – to ensure that businesses at a local and national level were able to celebrate and be recognised for their successes.

This year's achievements also showed Datacom's continued commitment to ensuring we’re a trusted tech partner with truly knowledgeable experts for our customers to draw from, and one way we enable this is through continually upskilling our people and teams. Our team has achieved Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Service Provider status, and we’ve also renewed our Amazon Web Services Managed Service Provider status — both of these we’ve achieved for eight years in a row.

We know that behind these awards are our incredible teams, and these teams are made up of inspiring and talented individuals – and we had a number of individuals who also won big during the 2023 awards season.

At the New Zealand Women in Security Awards, Denise Carter-Bennett won the Cybersecurity Champion award, which celebrates people who go above and beyond their role to support, champion, and empower women and non-binary professionals in cybersecurity.

Desiree Hutcheon won the Management Excellence – Personal Innovation award at the Reseller News Innovation Awards in recognition of her impact as an advocate and mentor to career starters and changers.

For the third time, our CIO and CISO, Karl Wright, was honoured in the CIO50 Awards from CIO Online, celebrating the top innovative and influential leaders across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Stacey Tomasoni and James Johnstone were both recognised within the Auscontact Association’s Top 100 Influencers in the Contact Centre Industry, and Alexandra Coates and Justin Gray were both recognised as 2023 ScienceLogic Customer Success Honorees.

These awards acknowledge our teams’ dedication to excellence, and we look forward to 2024 where we will continue to strive towards exceptional outcomes for our people, our customers, and our sustainability journey.
