From its base in the western suburbs of Sydney, Computer Network Integration (CNI) Group has grown for 23 years. Today, it’s a thriving business and provides IT and networking support for small and medium-sized businesses all over the city.
CNI specialises in the remote and on-site management of computers, servers and networks. It takes the hassle out of running IT systems and networks so that its customers can focus on their own business.
There are three pillars to the company’s services, says CNI’s founder Peter Groeneveld: managed services for computers, servers and networks; cybersecurity protection and colocation; and protection of business servers and data storage.
When it comes to hosting and securing CNI’s customers’ data, one factor is of vital importance.
“It’s about avoiding disruption – the angst that goes with downtime. Making sure customers’ data is secure and accessible at all times is what matters most,” Peter says.
A typical CNI customer might have a network running 30 computers. But, as with most businesses, those computers are generating more data than ever and need to run an increasingly complex mix of applications. The ability to work remotely may also be a requirement.
“We have a lot of customers who want to keep servers on their premises, and still have the flexibility and scale of the cloud,” says Peter.
“It is up to us to make sure that all the options are covered and that if an on-premises server dies, we can connect our customers to the cloud seamlessly to get an exact duplicate of their applications and data.”
Central to guaranteeing that was finding a data centre partner who CNI could trust with its customers’ data. The answer lay on CNI’s own doorstep.
