How do I request a quote when I shop with Datacom?

Once you have registered and gained access to the Datacom Store, you have multiple ways to find products.

The header search bar lets you directly search for products, or you can also use the mega menu, category or brand navigation to browse products. The team can also help create a 'Favorite's' list for you to add your frequently purchased items to cart quickly and easily. Your search will produce a listing page, and from there, you can then apply filters to narrow down your search further (e.g., specifications, price, etc.) until you find the perfect product for your needs.

If you would like to order a particular product in bulk from Datacom, you can request a quote, and the team will work to get you the best possible price per unit from our suppliers. 

Can I manage procurement for multiple locations or teams from one account? What are the different user roles and how do approval requests work within Datacom Store?

Multiple locations can be managed from one account. The approvals workflow has 3 roles:

  • Super Admin (Approvals Workflow Manager): Manages approval workflow settings, approvers, and user details.
  • Admin Approver: Has visibility of all order requests and can approve them, along with access to all orders and quotes across all orderers.
  • Orderer: Can only view their own orders and quotes.

Both ‘Admin’ roles are set as administrators but with slight differences. The 'Super Admin' role can change the approval settings for other users.

This setup enables businesses with multiple branches to operate under one account while maintaining independence through the approvals workflow. This helps ensure purchasing consistency and compliance with company guidelines through centralised management, improving efficiency, controlling spending, and simplifying ordering across multiple locations:

  • Head Office Users (Account Admins): Manage all orders and quotes.
  • Branch Users (Orderers): Can only view their own orders and quotes.
  • Admins: Approve all orders to ensure compliance with company policies and have full visibility of all orders and quotes across branches.
  • Orderers: Limited to viewing their own transactions.
